      Procedural Equipment
      The basic inhalation anesthesia machine used in surgeries delivers a controlled amount of anesthetic agent mixed with oxygen and provides a method of assisting the patient's breathing. All anesthesia machines carry the same four components: a gas source (usually oxygen), a gas pressure regulator, a flowmeter that controls the amount of gas entering the patient, and a vaporizer that delivers a concentration of the anesthetic agent into the patient.

    Dental cleanings require an ultrasonic dental unit that uses sound waves to generate energy from a stationary shank down to a detachable head.
